About Anila

I'm a journalist, writer and editor drawn to stories that make complex ideas feel human.

My work sits at the intersection of journalism, science, culture and communications. I've worked across digital newsrooms and higher education, developing stories that inform, engage and help audiences see familiar subjects in new ways.

I enjoy the process of finding the right question, connecting with people who have something meaningful to share, and shaping information into stories that resonate.

My approach

I'm interested in thoughtful storytelling — the kind that makes people curious, gives context to complicated subjects and connects ideas to everyday life.

Whether I'm interviewing a researcher, editing a newsletter or developing a story from the ground up, I believe good communication starts with understanding the audience.

Beyond the byline

Outside of work, I'm usually looking for an excuse to travel, spend time outdoors, explore new places or learn something unfamiliar. I'm particularly drawn to mountains, local cultures, food and experiences that challenge the way I see the world.

I believe curiosity makes us better storytellers — and better observers of the world around us.
